Daily Mail: This is Money Article

EnergyPathways’ MESH project has been featured in the Daily Mail’s This is Money section.

The article sets out the scale of the issue facing the UK. With gas still supplying a significant share of energy demand and increasing reliance on imports, global disruptions – such as those stemming from the situation in the Middle East – can quickly translate into higher prices and pressure on household bills.

It also highlights how limited storage leaves the UK particularly exposed, with countries effectively competing for supply when markets tighten.

MESH is designed to address this – a planned large-scale, integrated energy storage hub in the East Irish Sea, combining gas storage with long-duration energy storage to provide multi-day supply, reduce volatility and better utilise surplus wind power that would otherwise be curtailed.

As energy security rises up the agenda, the need for solutions like MESH that strengthen the UK’s resilience and reduce exposure to global shocks has never been clearer.
